OKBet Volley: Tehran will host the 2022 Asian Club Volleyball Championship

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – At the 2022 Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship, which will take place at the Azadi Indoor Stadium in Tehran, Iran from May 14 to 20, there will be a total of eight club teams competing, representing a total of six different countries.

The stadium will have a capacity of 12,000 seats. They will compete against one another in order to earn the highest honor and the only available spot in the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship.

Pool A is comprised of the following teams: Suntory Sunbirds, the champions of the 2020-21 Japanese Volleyball League Division 1, Nakhon Ratchasima QminC VC, the winners of the 2020-21 Thailand League, Tehran Peykan of Iran A, the runner-up at the 2021-22 Iran Volleyball Super League, and South Gas Sports Club of Iraq B. Pool B is composed of Al-Rayyan Sports Club, the winners of the 2021-22 Qatari Volleyball League

Following the conclusion of the pool round-robin preliminaries, which will take place between May 14 and 16, each of the competing teams will then be categorized into their respective ranks according to how well they performed in the pool plays.

The 17th of May is a day of rest. The highly anticipated quarterfinals of the championship will begin the next day, with the Pool winners facing off against the fourth-ranked side in the same pool, and the second-ranked team going up against the third-ranked side. Both of these matches will take place on the following day.

According to a report from asianvolleyball.net, the four winning teams will move on to the semifinals, while the losing teams will be moved to the classification round to compete for fifth through eighth place.

Iran came out on top in 15 of the previous 21 competitions to take the title, followed by Korea with two victories and Qatar, Kazakhstan, China, and Chinese Taipei each taking home one trophy.

The event for the year 2020 was originally scheduled to take place in Thailand, however it was ultimately called off because to significant worries around the COVID-19 epidemic.
