OKBet Volley: Lady Lions Lose to New Orleans Because of Errors

Lady Lions – At the Human Performance Center at the University of New Orleans, the Southeastern Louisiana University volleyball team was defeated by the New Orleans Privateers by a score of 3-0 (20-25, 20-25, 24-26) on Thursday night.
The Lady Lions were defeated because the Southeastern Louisiana University volleyball team committed 22 attack errors and 12 service errors, which proved to be costly.
During the match, Cicily Hidalgo finished with 11 kills and 12 digs, giving her a double-double for the sixth time this season. Kailin Newsome had a team-high 12 kills in addition to her two service aces, making her the leader of the team. At the net, Alexis Logarbo led the team with two solo blocks, which was a significant accomplishment. Gracie Duplechein had the most assists for the team with 21, while Peyton Stokley added 12 of her own to the tally for assists.
SLU finished the match with more kills than the Privateers (41-39) and more service aces (5-2), but their inability to either keep the ball within the lines or get it over the net cost them the match. The Lady Lions made 22 attack errors throughout the match, with only seven of those errors being caused by blocks from the University of New Orleans.

In contrast, the Privateers made just nine attack errors, with five of those errors being caused by SLU blockers swatting back attacks. Because of this, UNO was able to finish the match with an attack percentage of.316, while SLU’s attack percentage came out to be.170. In addition, SLU made a total of 12 errors when serving, whereas UNO made a total of only six errors when serving.
The defeat brings the Lady Lions’ overall record to 13-4 and their standing in the Southern League to 3-2. Despite this, the Lady Lions are undefeated at home with a record of 5-0 and in matches played at neutral sites with a record of 7-0. SLU looks to raise that home record to 6-0 on Saturday as Nicholls State comes to Hammond for a lunch time affair on Hall of Fame and Alumni Day on the SLU campus. At the University Center on Saturday, the first serve of the match against the Colonels (4-12, 1-3 SLC) is scheduled to begin at eleven in the morning.
